Raised and Educated in an Atmosphere of the Fine Arts, History and Culture it is no surprise that I wanted to be an Architect and prepared to become one at an early age.  This journey began with professional instruction in Art-Painting, Drawing and Sculpture, Furniture, Glass, and Architecture.  Soon I realized the benefits of knowledge within a profession, significantly and beneficially, complemented other professions.  Conceptualizations began to become manifest such as:  Art framed by Architecture, and  Architecture framed by or extending into or even defined , inspired by landscape.
Regis ZapatkaA First Professional Degree in Architecture, Degrees in History and Business followed by A Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture, and ‘a Bachelors of Science in the scion of the Profession, (Horticulture) were required.   All this was planned for and in part financed by the LAB work-working in Residential and Landscape Construction.  All this effort built a strong practical foundation required for anyone in the Design Build Profession and of great practical benefit to any Professional of Architecture and Landscape Architecture.  Years of professional study, research, internship and professional practice and travel, coupled with the practical knowledge of working directly in residential and landscape construction defines the Professional with whom I believe you will appreciate entrusting your Architectural and Landscape Architectural needs, my name is Regis Zapatka, RA, RLA, Horticulturist.
As much as the Profession of Architecture and Landscape Architecture is about “REASON” manifested in Technology, Science, Systems Integration and Engineering:  The Profession of Architecture and Landscape Architecture require a foundation in the Fine Arts.  The Architect, not unlike a composer brings the ‘arts and sciences’ together to form a functioning work of art..   It is precisely the incorporation of both the Rational and the Transcendental-wherein architecture and landscape architecture not only complement each other but in practice have greater potential to enliven, heal, inspire the body, mind and spirit.  I look forward to the opportunity in presenting how Stoneridge Design may be of assistance with your Architecture and Landscape Architecture needs.
Sincerely,
Regis A. Zapatka, Registered Architect, Registered Landscape Architect, Horticulturist, President Stoneridge Design Inc.  (412) 221-6085. Or email at: Larchz@aol.com
